The Boy Who Cried Tiger and Other Tales from Sylheti
The Boy Who Cried Tiger is a collection of folktales re-written in the Sylheti language. Published by SOAS University London, stories re-imagined and translated by Faruk Miah and Farhana Ferdous.
The SOAS Sylheti Project set out to develop storybook to help promote one of London’s under-resourced community languages, Sylheti, spoken mostly in Camden and around Tower Hamlets. The tales featured in this book are The Boy who Cried Tiger, Bundle of Sticks and Wind and Sun.
